Technical Account Manager


White Ash Group is currently recruiting a Technical Account Manager for a fast growing and well-funded cannabis tech company. The successful hire will be the primary relationship manager for the companies most important client relationships, focusing on client retention and account growth along with technical support. This is a hybrid role that combines technical prowess with business acumen and people skills.

This Technical Account Manager will help clients identify opportunities to get more value out of the tools and data by helping them develop and address use cases inside their enterprise. In addition, the Technical Account Manager will identify account expansion opportunities for the sales team to address, and function as a sales engineer when talking to the most valuable and sophisticated prospects.

Our client is a well-funded data technology startup experiencing rapid revenue growth, that provides data applications and data cloud services for cannabis brands and founded by executives from Google, Twitter and Intel, and team members from Netflix and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Helping clients get more value out of data
  • Discovery on tech stacks
  • Be the primary point of contact for important enterprise accounts
  • Facilitate the implementation of data services and products for top accounts. – Increase the value that clients get out of Pistil’s data and applications by providing training, best practices, and consultation. 
  • Provide support to Sales team and VP of Revenue when engaging with potential new clients
  • Identify opportunities to grow the size of key accounts. 
  • Collaborate with sales during the renewal cycle to renew/grow contracts.
  • Continually identify, document, and evangelize new use cases for data and applications.
  • Work internally with product managers, engineers and data operations to help identify where efforts are best directed to best meet client needs.


  • 3+ years in a technical role working with data
  • 3+ years of experience in a client service/account management role with responsibilities for retaining and growing accounts including staying in touch, biweekly meetings, communicating cross functionally
  • Working knowledge of cloud data solutions (Snowflake experience a major asset)
  • Intermediate SQL skills or better (must be able to write SQL queries)
  • Proven ability to communicate, present, and influence across all levels of the organization 
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services, as well as the ability to compare products against competitors 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Interest in the cannabis industry
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
