About:

As QA Specialist, you will be reporting to the QA Manager and responsible for ensuring compliance with Cannabis Regulations and requirements set by Health Canada. Perform inspection, sampling and recording of incoming materials. This role requires an understanding of lab testing, inspection of manufacturing packaging and labelling process to ensure compliance with batch production records and standard operating procedures. Your expertise in completeness and accuracy of QA documentation and proper record keeping will be instrumental to the overall growth and continued success of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, verify and maintain all GPP records (including Labels, Sanitation, Calibration, Batch Records,
  • Cannabis Destruction records, Shipping and Receiving records, Inventory logs etc.) ensuring that
  • product meets quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform in-process inspection and participate in inventory control and reconciliation of incoming Cannabis materials and finished products.
  • Assist with Incoming Cannabis and Finished Cannabis product assessment. Review the laboratory reports and create Certificates of Analysis/Compliance
  • Assist with label review and approval
  • Collect and maintain finished product samples for laboratory testing and retention
  • Perform and document sampling and inspection of incoming cannabis and packaging materials
  • Record and investigate deviations, quality incidents and customer complaints
  • Assist with equipment qualification and environmental monitoring
  • Assist with creation, updating and review of SOPs, forms and other documents
  • Assist with monthly Cannabis Reports and Regulatory audits and inspections
  • Perform Internal facility audits as per set schedules
  • Other duties not included here may be required
  • The position is full time, onsite, during day shift

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in Quality Assurance in Cannabis, NHPs, Drugs, and/or Food
  • and beverage industry.
  • Knowledge of the Cannabis Act, GPP, HACCP and GMP.
  • Ability to write reports and analyze data, with excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with EPR systems for inventory and production operations
  • Effective analytical problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and good written and oral communication skills.
  • Teamwork oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle strict deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10lb.
  • Ability to provide Criminal Record Check
  • Previous work experience with a Canadian Licensed Producer (LP) is an asset
  • Canadian Resident or Citizen – must be able to apply for Security Clearance when required by company
  • Experience with Quality Systems: Change Control, Deviation, CAPA, Document Control, Complaint and Recall Investigation
