Production Supervisor

Summary:

White Ash Group is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-known publicly traded, fully licensed Cannabis company based in Calgary, Alberta known for a variety of popular brands and their exceptional company culture. We are seeking a Production Supervisor to assist the Production Manager(s) with the organization and operations of the manufacturing of goods. This role will support in the ensuring the smooth running of all production lines and the quality of output.

About the Job: 

The successful Production Supervisor will assist the Production Managers in leading employees that are working in the production unit. Supervisors will assist with monitoring employees’ performance, ensuring high productivity levels, and assigning tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure team compliance with all standard operating procedures (SOP’s), quality and safety policies
  • Maintain product quality and sanitation standards
  • Optimize operational efficiencies to support the production, warehousing, and shipping of products
  • Identify and oversee operational improvements necessary to deliver on the operational plan and capacity planning
  • Support in the identifying cost performance gaps, development of action plans, and allocation of resources
  • Support in the development of the team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
  • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to assist the team to solve operational issues
  • Assist in building and maintaining staffing schedules to execute on production schedule within labour budget
  • Motivate team members to achieve daily, weekly and monthly production and performance targets
  • Flex production plans on a shift-by-shift basis to prevent issues and increase operational efficiencies
  • Optimize input and packaging material used to minimize loss
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts and procedures
  • Be open minded to learn and grow within the role and organization

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Production Lead or Production Supervisor
  • 2+ years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably CPG or food manufacturing or Cannabis processing
  • Knowledge and capability in manufacturing, project management, leadership, and logical problem-solving
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to encourage and get results through mentoring others
  • Proven ability to coach, facilitate, and inspire team-building skills
  • Ability to schedule employees and production shifts within a fast-paced multi-shift environment
  • Results oriented with ability to multi-task in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
  • Well-developed written and communication skills, and ability to exercise timely and good judgment in day-to-day business decisions
  • Prepared to substitute for Managers and Supervisors’ absences as needed
