Processing Manager

Summary:

White Ash Group is currently recruiting a Processing Manager for a fully licensed producer of Cannabis based in Newfoundland. 

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the ­­Processing Manager is tasked with all growing, trimming, and care of product for the production facility, as well as the oversight of the ­­Processing Leads & Technicians.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor Direct Reports:

  • In conjunction with HR, responsible for tracking employee hours, vacation, sick time, leave requests etc.
  • Oversee performance improvement efforts in accordance with the Performance Management Policy.
  • Schedule work assignments and ensuring accuracy.

Processing Rooms:

  • Manage processing operations and production schedule
  • Supervise processing activities in accordance with ACL SOPs
  • Monitor product quality and respond to issues
  • Oversee maintenance and organization of cannabis storage areas

Manufacturing/Processing:

  • Manage all aspects of cannabis processing, from the completion of drying to finished product
  • Supervise extraction, trimming, pre-roll, packaging/labelling, storage, and shipping activities
  • Set production schedule, maintaining a smooth workflow and manageable pace
  • Follow label control process to create and document product and master case labels
  • Ensure production targets, schedules and quality metrics are consistently met

SOPs/Record Keeping:

  • Conduct all activities with cannabis in strict accordance with ACL SOPs
  • Generate and maintain official records in a neat, concise, and accurate manner
  • Ensure that all required records are generated and filed in a timely manner
  • Deliver and maintain accurate tracking and reporting of all departmental data points

Sanitation/Hygiene:

  • Supervise room and equipment sanitation ensuring established standards are met
  • Maintain a sanitary working environment and excellent personal hygiene

Other:

  • Display strong leadership qualities while promoting a positive work environment and working cohesively with team members
  • Adhere to and promote established security protocols
  • Supervise destruction and sanitation activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Must Have:

  • 2+ years experience in similar role in the Cannabis industry
  • 2+ years in leadership position
  • Strong experience and knowledge of commercial production, specifically cannabis
  • Ability to work within a regulated environment
  • High School Diploma
  • Post-secondary diploma in Agriculture/Horticulture/Forestry is an asset
