Summary:

The Manager of Operations will drive results at a rapidly growing organization with a range of operating activities. The Manager of Operations thrives in a leadership position, excelling at communicating the strategic direction of the company both internally and externally and displaying strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. The individual is responsible for increasing efficiency and product quality by developing and implementing strategic initiatives based on a deep understanding of all business activities. The role requires an ability to measure and analyze production results using strong quantitative and technical skills. The Manager of Operations will be a highly driven, dedicated and collaborative member of THE leadership team, spearheading all efforts to enhance the company’s productivity.

Operations:

  • Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement
  • Manage the efficiencies of operations of those departments that directly impact product cost and quality
  • Coordinate with the Senior Leadership team on product projects and lead the ongoing development of enhancements to support consumers
  • Forecast and coordinate resources needed to reach project objectives and manage resources in an effective manner
  • Oversee the scheduling of production and collaborate with departmental heads to increase productivity
  • Identify and implement systems/practices/approaches that increase production and operational efficiency while maintaining or improving product quality
  • Improve the company’s KPI tracking and reporting, identifying and implementing the best software for the company’s budget and needs
  • Provide regular reporting on production KPIs to the senior leadership team, using up-to-date data and results-oriented analysis
  • Oversee all supply chains in which company participates and identify where possible more efficient input-sourcing and routes to market
  • Research, develop and implement best process strategies for new product development
  • Ensure that personnel retain quality and service standards established by the company
  • Contribute information and recommendations to strategic planning by senior leadership
  • Prepare and implement action plans to resolve operational issues that arise
  • Ensure regulatory compliance in all operating activities
  • Stay abreast of industry innovations and trends

Leadership & Performance Management:

  • Display exemplary professionalism and care for fellow employees at all times
  • Provide mentorship and effective management to Managers under your direct report
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to ensure that goals and objectives are met by departments
  • Support the Semi-Annual Performance Review process and identify/communicate area(s) of improvement and establish learning objectives for staff under your direct report
  • Support Human Resources in conflict resolution
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment

Finance & Administration:

  • Review operational policies and procedures as they relate to information-tracking and record-keeping and provide enhancement recommendations to increase efficiencies
  • Monitor financial performance to ensure that departments are meeting or exceeding budgetary commitments
  • Contribute to the development of pro-forma production models
  • Assist directly with record-keeping as may be required

Requirements:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years in manufacturing, supply chain management, logistics or related field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of managerial experience, including staff management and performance appraisals
  • Six Sigma training preferred.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to identify key issues and find solutions to overcome them.
  • Effective attention to detail
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and execution skills
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong quantitative skills, including both computation and analysis.
  • Willingness to work long hours, on occasion as required in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements in food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, or related manufacturing industry
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
