Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the entire product line life cycle from upfront strategic planning to execution to down-the-road improvements, and eventual rationalization where/when required
- Delivering and maintaining a portfolio of products that are commercially successful, competitive, and profitable while continuously improving the position of the company in the market
- Planning and recommending where the company should invest resources
- Analyzing markets for opportunities, identifying future trends, and studying competitor positioning in the market
- Creating product strategy to drive sales, profit, and market share
- Defining the product vision collaboratively with Sales, Brand Marketing, R&D, and end customers while prioritizing product and customer requirements
- Ensuring satisfaction targets are understood and met
- Owning the product portfolio strategy
- Conducting and acquiring market research to help specify market requirements for current and future products, developing a comprehensive and overarching product portfolio strategy and product roadmap
- Leading the product development and launch by being a stakeholder in the product innovation process, identifying future market requirements and potential product opportunities
- Partnering with Sales and R&D to develop products with clear timelines
- Communicating with team in China
- Ensuring products meet customer satisfaction objectives while adhering to legislative requirements
- Developing product line extensions and supporting product improvement plans that are in tune with market trends
- Providing leadership throughout the entire product line lifecycle
- Acting as a product portfolio subject matter expert as they direct Brand Marketing, Sales, Customer Solutions, etc. through leading the development and maintenance of various marketing and sales collateral
- Developing company-wide “go-to-market” product plans within the product portfolio roadmap, partnering with Marketing and all relevant departments to ensure alignment and successful execution
- Approving plans and budgets related to established product roadmap
- Approving plan for the product portfolio management
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience of product management (vape or e-cigarette experience a major asset)
- Experience leading a product team
- Mandarin fluency
- Ability to lead, coach, manage and strategize
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform product decisions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, science, engineering or technology
