GM, Medical Cannabis Marketplace


White Ash Group has been engaged by a fully licensed Cannabis cultivation, processing, and consumer packaged goods company to recruit their next GM, Medical Cannabis Marketplace.

As the GM Medical Cannabis, you will lead the Medical Marketplace division. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the GM, will lead the Medical Cannabis Marketplace division and will be responsible for all marketplace aspects including but not limited to: running a P&L business, e- commerce and customer experience, relationship management, business development including patient acquisition/retention, contract negotiations, product selection, inventory management, marketing and promotion including website management and optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the P&L of the medical marketplace with responsibility towards the direct-to- patient strategy and operations.
  • Oversee all aspects of the ecommerce site including patient acquisition/retention, product selection, inventory management, marketing and promotion.
  • Responsible for all aspects of site merchandising including sourcing new products, placing inventory orders, and maintaining inventory of all products with associated records.
  • Leverage analytics and financial metrics to track selling, identify key trends and KPIs and maximize opportunities that help drive revenue and market share in the channel.
  • Build and maintain key partnerships with other medical clinics and licensed producers to further develop referral partner relationships and increase overall referral rates.
  • Build cross-functional relationships with Sales, IT, Marketing, Operations ensuring alignment on the medical marketplace priorities.
  • Work with demand planning and warehousing teams in order to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
  • Providing analysis and reporting on metrics such as weekly/monthly sales, new product sales, and marketing incentive performance.
  • Perform any other duties or tasks on an as-needed basis as requested by management.


  • Experience with P&L management, eCommerce marketing, and website management for similar size and scale platforms.
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience in a similar role with a consumer goods company, and advanced knowledge of developing and managing e-commerce platforms. Experience with Shopify specifically is preferred.
  • Must have strong proficiency in creating data driven reports to analyze performance of product sales, marketing incentives, and overall setting and management of KPI targets.
  • Experience working with various technology platforms including: Microsoft CRM, Microsoft Dynamics Business Central ERP, and e-commerce platforms; Shopify and Ample is preferred.
  • Must also have strong proficiency using MS Office suite (Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) and ability to leverage tools supporting the marketplace and ecommerce functions.
  • Proven track record for developing and successfully executing eCommerce-focused digital marketing strategies will be viewed as an asset.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
