General Manager

Summary:

As General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and profitability and directing all aeroponics cultivation and process operations to achieve company goals internationally and domestically. The General Manager reports to the President and is a full-time permanent position based at our indoor facility in Cranbrook, British Columbia.

Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a General Manager or similar executive role in a regulated industry.
  • Experience in production/operations management, preferably in cannabis.
  • Knowledge of both domestic and international cannabis.
  • Strong people management and delegation skills with experience leading teams of 40 employees.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and inventory processes, production planning, and scheduling.
  • Knowledge of business processes and functions (Finance, HR, Procurement, Operations, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software suite.
  • Must be able to obtain Health Canada security clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations at our cannabis cultivation facility, including logistics, HR, warehouse maintenance, cultivation, finance, and administrative support.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize cultivation processes and ensure scalability, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop, manage, and control forecasts and budgets in collaboration with the finance team and other department managers.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures to ensure facility operating costs are within an acceptable level.
  • Oversee all cultivation and inventory process activities under both cultivation and research licenses, ensuring compliance with Health Canada regulations.
  • Collaborate with QA Manager to implement quality SOPs and maintain regulatory compliance. Enforce strict compliance to SOPs, HACCP, and Health Canada Guidelines.
  • Develop and manage sales strategies for both international and domestic sales, including inventory management and forecasting.
  • Develop production plans to maintain cannabis inventory levels as determined by sales demand forecasting.
  • Secure agreements for bulk cannabis sales and ensure proper fulfillment.
  • Assist the Operations Analyst with the preparation, execution, and documentation of all shipping.
  • Foster a positive work environment encouraging collaborative discussions, team communications, rigorous root cause analysis, and transparent decision-making.
