Chief Operating Officer

Summary:

The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing daily operations in our manufacturing facilities. The COO will align closely with company goals and objectives to assist in defining strategy and driving overall profitability of the operations, including but not limited to production. The COO will have both a day-to-day and long-term ongoing impact on operations; helping analyze, strategize, and sustainably grow our operational infrastructure. You will work closely with on-the-ground teams to identify where efficiencies can be made in the current system and create future scalable, sustainable plans without sacrificing quality or profitability. 

The ideal candidate has extensive operational and leadership experience they can rely on to lead and build a team of high-performing professionals to be efficient, productive, and effective. A successful candidate has strong leadership skills and the ability to approach business from a creative point of view. They will have the proven ability to lead through ambiguity and adaptability by delivering in a complex, ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee operational policies and procedures
  • Oversee national operations; including Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Operational Excellence, and Technology Departments
  • Spearheading strategies to steer the company’s future in a positive direction by overseeing process improvement initiatives and implementing better business practices
  • Oversee projects pertaining to operational practices, including software and systems implementations and integration
  • Collaborate with management to assess and implement improved processes and new technologies with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Controlling company costs, and introducing tactical initiatives to address losses
  • Preparing and effectively communicating accurate Operational performance reports
  • Alignment with Compliance on company, state and federal levels
  • Oversee Departmental Leadership and Development
  • Clearly communicates with corporate department leaders, ensuring strategic information is funneled to the appropriate team members
  • Provide coaching and development tools to department leaders and direct reports to ensure all staff have the resources necessary to perform their duties correctly and effectively by employing various initiatives to coach employees to optimize their capabilities
  • Perform corporate department leadership’s employee performance reviews
  • Responsible for overseeing the hiring terminating of direct reports
  • Delegating responsibilities to ensure staff members grow as capable participants
  • Supervisor Responsibilities
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees and assisting with planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Provides regular performance feedback and coaching to direct reports including reviews.

Requirements:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 10+ years of experience in Operations leadership with a heavy focus on managing large teams across diverse markets, preferably in manufacturing or production environments
  • Results-driven personality, eager to partner with upper management to organize, plan and achieve company goals
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Exceptional time management and ability to problem solve under pressure
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the related job market
  • State regulations require all applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Will be required to submit to a background check
  • Must obtain all state required: permits, licenses, certifications ○ Oregon: Active Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) Marijuana Worker Permit
  • Travel between sites will be required
