Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Ensure Financial Statements and MD&A are completed under IFRS on a timely basis as required under the TSX reporting timeframes.
  • Accounting: Responsible for all accounting under IFRS, accounting systems, consolidation, and audit processes.
  • Internal Controls: Responsible for ensuring compliance with National Instrument 52-109.
  • Team: Optimize and develop the finance & accounting team (hire, manage, develop).
  • Budget: Create and implement an in-depth annual budgeting process including budget analysis and comparisons.
  • Management Reports: Oversee and complete the monthly management report. Ensure that the Senior Management team is provided with timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Financing: Responsible for all financing activities, including the optimal available financial opportunities are executed.
  • Working Capital: Management of Accounts Payable and working capital process to ensure timely & accurate payments. Ensure a process where invoices are formally approved within policy guidelines.
  • Treasury: Maximize interest on our cash balance within investment policy requirements and recommend the best course of action.
  • Facilities: Develop close working relationships with key personnel working at the cultivation facilities ensuring the accounting systems are aligned with reporting requirements (e.g. inventory-accounting). Identify gaps and risks within the facilities accounting functions.
  • Internal Capital Analysis: Review of Company capital requirements and internal projects under ROI analysis. Work with COO and other department heads to identify, analyze and recommend capital investments that benefit the Company’s internal rate of return and cash inflows/outflows.
  • Risk: Analyze the company’s risk profile (both at corporate, and the facilities) and make recommendations to the senior management team to address areas of concern.
  • Suppliers: Negotiate the best terms with the external services under the scope of the CFO (audit, legal, insurance).
  • Product Financial Analysis: Provide detailed sales product financial analysis to management to understand the key drivers of the company’s products, as in which products deliver the highest economic returns, turnover ratios, unit costs, and lowest percent of recalls. Information to be developed and implemented into management reporting.
  • Insurance: Manage the global insurance process for the Company.
  • Other: Work closely with the Senior Management team to support M&A and capital market relationships.

Requirements:

  • CPA designation.
  • 10+ years of finance and accounting experience.
  • 5+ years of working at a TSXV/TSX listed issuer with relevant financial reporting, audit and ICFR experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with cannabis, CPG, and/or manufacturing.
  • Knowledgeable, intelligent, articulate & ethical.
